The Word for Wednesday

New Sermon Series Begins August 30th

10 For we are God’s handiwork,

created in Christ Jesus to do good works,

which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

Friends, “Have you ever asked this question: Why am I here? Trying to discover the purpose of our lives can lead to a lot of questions: Who am I? Do I have a “calling”? What am I supposed to do with my life? What does purposeful living look like? Often, the world is all too ready to give us answers to these questions, that is, promising that finding the perfect job or achieving the next milestone will make us happy. However, in this series, we will embrace these questions as an invitation to discover what it is that God wants to do with the story of our lives right now." Friends, invite family members, friends, neighbors, and anyone who would like to attend Stone church service and listen to Pastor Domingos' sermon series for the next six weeks as God speaks to us, begin next Sunday, August 30th.

Crawford Gives Starts Today

Crawford Gives Starts Today

Erie United Methodist Alliance

Today is the first day to donate to Crawford Gives!

No one should have to sleep under a bridge.

Yet for some of our neighbors in Crawford County, homelessness means finding a place to stay dry, stay warm, and make it through another night. Crawford Gives runs today through Friday (August 21st). Every dollar raised in Crawford County stays in Crawford County, helping EUMA meet our neighbors where they are and walk alongside them toward a better tomorrow.

Because folks deserve more than a place to survive the night. Everyone deserves a home. Will you join EUMA during Crawford Gives and help make that possible?

Donate online at CrawfordGives.org or drop off your check off at: Crawford Heritage Community Foundation mailbox at 415 Chestnut Street, Meadville PA 16335.

EUMA is ending homelessness in Crawford County, PA. EUMA took ownership of a 10-unit building and a single family detached home in Meadville, Crawford County, PA in October of 2023. All units are dedicated for use by Crawford County neighbors who are, or who have experienced a housing crisis.

When temperatures drop, Shelter Area Meadville (SAM) opens its doors to provide a warm, safe place to sleep for neighbors experiencing homelessness in Crawford County. But SAM is about more than a bed for the night—it’s a place where people are met with dignity, compassion, and connection to resources that can help them move toward stable housing.

Crawford Gives gift helps ensure our neighbors have a safe place to turn when they need it most.

With gratitude for you,

Kurt Crays

EUMA CEO
