We are so excited for the new opportunities and experiences Pastor Fernando will bring to Stone and Bethany UMC’s and hope he is as excited to come here! Pastor Fernando is from Angola, Africa and speaks fluent Portuguese and English. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Africa University where he was a member of the university choir. Peace with Justice SundayMay 31, 2026 Peace with Justice Sunday reminds us that the church has a role to play in making things right. United Methodists believe that working for peace means addressing the deeper causes of conflict—like poverty, racism, and oppression. It’s not just about ending war, but about building a world where everyone is treated with dignity. Your support on Peace with Justice Sunday helps fund local and national initiatives that address the root causes of injustice and equip the Church to respond with compassion and courage. Read more. |
