Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Jan. 18-25 marks the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This annual observance, sponsored jointly by the World Council of Churches and the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity since 1968, invites all Christians everywhere to remember one another in prayer and strengthen the bonds of love and mutual mission we share in Jesus Christ.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Events

The Erie-Meadville District Anti-Racism Team would like to encourage all of us to attend one of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events in our surrounding area.

Our attendance shows extremely important support for the community by helping to build strong relationships.

Here are the events in Erie and Meadville on Monday, January 19th:

ERIE: Join others in an 11 AM march from Perry Square to the Martin Luther King Center where a lunch and program will be held at no cost to attendees.

MEADVILLE (Allegheny College): Service opportunities will be from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM at Pelletier Library (555 North Main Street) and a luncheon will be from 12 PM to 2 PM at Schultz Banquet Hall (549 Park Avenue). There will be music, readings, and a community-based panel discussion. Tickets are $15 and will be available for purchase at the door or at the Family Children and Community Association (378 Chestnut Street).
