We Need Your Help
After the recent congregational meeting, the message is clear for Stone U.M.Church. We are having major financial problems.
Last month alone, we had to transfer $20,000 from a special endowment account just to pay the bills. The issue isn't new. It's been going on since before Covid-19, but it's now to the point where it's very serious. We cannot keep drawing from the endowment funds to balance our budget.
We are committed to keep doors open to minister to others and lead them to Christ.
We need suggestions from you about ways you believe we can increase our revenue. The finance team has worked hard to reduce expenses and now we need to find ways to increase our revenue. If that doesn't happen, the future of the church is in jeopardy. Our mission is to make disciples for Christ. To do that, we need to keep our doors open and a staff on board.
Attached is the presentation Jim Ross made at the congregation meeting for those unable to attend. Click HERE to view presentation.
If you have some suggestions, please send them to the finance chairperson, Jane Smith, at grandmagjane@zoominternet.net or call her at 814-337-6377 or send a note or email to church. We just celebrated our 200th anniversary and we certainly don't want it to be our last anniversary. Please pray about this and let's see what we can do to change our financial picture!
Thanks in advance.

With Gratitude...
On behalf of the Meadville 1825 subcommittee for Juneteenth at the John Brown Tannery Site, thank you for providing the tables and chairs for the celebration. Your support helps us share the story of John Brown, the well-known abolitionist who lived in our area and helped lead enslaved people to freedom through the Underground Railroad. The Meadville 1825 committee is organizing over 20 events this year that showcase Meadville's rich history. Visit our Facebook page at Meadville 1825. Again, we sincerely appreciate your support.
