Dear Members and Friends,

Throughout this challenging year, the people of Stone UMC have trusted God, embracing the words of the chorus, “Through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God”. Through it all we have lived into and out of our mission statement, “Compelled by God's love, we are an inclusive community of faith, meeting people where they are at, connecting them to Christ and one another, helping live as disciples of Jesus Christ”.

From week one of the shut down, Stone has provided weekly worship services through Armstrong Cable, Facebook and now in person. We have invested in staff and technology to help us “meet people where they are at”.  We have invested in safety both for health (social distancing, sanitizing, etc) and for the building and its occupants (security cameras). In July, our daycare, The Children's Center reopened safely supporting parents in their return to work. We continue to partner with the Soup Kitchen, Recovery groups and the Girl Scouts providing safe, clean space to meet and eat while supporting our ministry at Fairview/Fairmont Apartments, the Lord's Locker clothing ministry and missions both local and global.

Our strong Capital Campaign continues to provide funds for slate work on our roof, ADA upgrades, and new bathrooms on the basement floor. In confidence, we care for the building as it continues to be a home for many, while working to create an online home for persons unable to be with us physically.

Your contributions, tithes and offerings provide the financial support needed to not only sustain Christ's ministry through Stone but expand it. As we plan for ministry in 2021, we recognize continued financial uncertainty but more importantly claim the power of God at work within us, enabling us to do, “far more than anything we could hope for or imagine”(Ephesians 3:20).

As your ministry leadership team, we thank you for your current giving and ask that you prayerfully consider your financial support of Stone in 2021. Enclosed is an estimate of giving card and a self addressed stamped envelope. If possible, please return the card to Stone Church by October 31st. In advance, thank you for your commitment to Christ's ministry through Stone UMC.

Yours in Christ,
