Mighty God, you make a way for us in the chaos of the sea and give us water in desert places: Help us to live by the covenant you write on our hearts; open us to receive the new thing you are doing. Give us grace to know Christ, the sharing of his sufferings, and the power of his resurrection, that we may gain the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Amen.

We have failed to put our complete confidence in you; we rely on prestige and past success for reputation; we look to the wealth and power of nations for support; we cling to things, and yet knowing you surpasses all else. Wash us; heal us; teach us to honor you with truth. Let us know the joy and gladness of your saving grace that we may have life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
