For the second year, the members of Stone UMC have donated $3000.00 to defeat the scourge of Malaria in Africa! Thank you for your generosity in this effort to eliminate Malaria from Africa by 2015! As a note of interest, the lay and clergy members of the Annual Conference were asked to make a pledge or donation during the annual session in May at Grove City. It resulted in an additional $130,000 from the W. Pa Conference toward the goal of eliminating malaria from Africa by 2015. So far our denomination, (the people of the United Methodist Church) has raised $17 million to fight malaria. The grand total from W. Pa is over $1.3 million in cash or pledges so far. Thousands of men, women and children have been educated to use the bed nets, hundreds of health workers have been trained, and medicine has been distributed, and lives HAVE BEEN SAVED! You may never meet the children you have saved, but you have been blessed by the prayers of thanks from the parents of those children. Close your eyes and listen…….those are prayers of thanks for the medicines, the nets, the training and the education.
